Free food and massages excite students

DENVER – It’s that time of year and the stress of finals can be felt in the air but the Office of Student Life is offering students options to combat the stress.
Finals Fuel was put on by the Office of Student Life this week on the Denver Campus with Auraria in conjunction with the Peer Advocate Leaders program which focuses on support for incoming freshmen but expands to every class during finals week.
Students could ‘spin the wheel’ for prizes such as a free massage, a $5 food voucher to one of the food trucks on campus or a free snack.
They also had tips for taking exams, free scantrons (exam answer sheets) and blue books for any CU Denver student.
“The whole idea is to boost moral during finals week and have fun,” said Chelsea Smith, Student Programming Board chair. “We want students to do well on their finals so we try to give them all the tools they need.”
Many students were very excited about the chance to win a free massage. “I have been so stressed for the last week, to give students free massages is such a great idea,” said Emily Dunkin a junior Biology major.
